It started when I made a Nativity ornament in the Fall of 2008.

My friends and family really liked the ornament, so I made a few for them. Then each year I would come out with a new Christmas ornament...and it has been so much fun.

I'm a mom of four.  One of the perks of being a potter is that I've been able to get my little ones to do sets of clay handprints through the year...

These days it seems that I'm constantly trying to learn something new...I'm learning about how to better use my website, how to market more effectively with Pinterest, how to use a different glazing technique, how to modify my potter's wheel, how to grow an email list... and the list goes on right?

This is going to be a big year for Michelle Leach Pottery.

Ok... so I think I've recovered.  :)

The end of 2017 for Michelle Leach Pottery was C R A Z Y !!!!  But it was so much fun.  I was blown away by the number of orders I received, and boy did I have my work cut out getting all of them fulfilled by Christmas.  November and December made for many late nights in the studio.

I've learned that sometimes what keeps us from pursuing new endeavors is thinking we have to be perfect from step one. And then the pressure to be polished keeps us from doing anything at all. So confession: my website is still under construction, my skills as a potter are a little rusty, and I've still got questions on how to run this business.

But you know what? I'm going for it.
